Well, you can turn 1/3 in to 2/6 and 1 and 2/6 plus 5/6 is 2 and 1/6.

1/3 = 2/6
so 2/6 + 5/6 = 7/6 or 1 1/6
1 1/6 + 1 = 2 1/6
