Given:

In a right angle triangle triangle, the length of hypotenuse = 47 units.

One of the acute angle = 17°.

Opposite side of the given angle = X

To find:

The value of X. Round to the nearest tenth.

Solution:

In a right angle triangle,

\sin \theta=(Opposite)/(Hypotenuse)

A right triangle is crated with the help of dotted lines. In this triangle,

\sin (17^\circ)=(X)/(47)

0.2923717=(X)/(47)

Multiply both sides by 47.

0.2923717* 47=X

13.74147=X

X\approx 13.7

Therefore, the approximate value of X is 13.7 units.
