Ms. Perkins wants to rent a car for a day. It will cost the daily fee of $75 plus $0.55 per mile driven. Let m= the number of miles Ms. Perkins drives for the day. Write an expression that shows the amount she will pay for the car. Evaluate the expression you wrote to find how much Ms. Perkins will pay if she drives 300 miles.

cost=fee+milecost
milecost=miles driven (m) times cost per mile (0.55)
fee=75

cost=75+0.55m
300 miles
sub 300 for m
cost=75+0.55(300)
cost=75+165
cost=240

cost is $240 for 300 miles
