Francois baked just enough cookies to fill all the orders at his bakery. While the cookies were cooling, a kitchen assistant knocked over a cooling rack and spilled 12\%12%12, percent of the cookies onto the floor. Francois had to bake 363636 more cookies to replace them.

I'm guessing the question is how many total cookies were baked.
36 = .12 x *** x being the total number of cookies
Divide both sides by .12
300 = x

knocked 12% onto the floor
had to bake 36 more to replace

therefor, 12%=36 cookies
divide by 12
1%=3cookies
100%=300 cookies

he bakes 300 ccookies originally
