For this case we have the following main function:
f (x) = x ^ 3
We have the following transformation of functions:
Expansions and vertical compressions:
To graph y = a * f (x)
If a> 1, the graph of y = f (x) is expanded vertically by a factor a. (It lengthens)
If 0 <a <1, the graph of y = f (x) is compressed vertically by a factor a. (Shrinks)
We have then:
h (x) = ((1/4) x) ^ 3
h (x) = (1/64) * (x) ^ 3
h (x) = (1/64) * f (x)
0 <1/64 <1
The graph f (x) shrinks,
Answer:
f (x) = x ^ 3
