Answer: A comma is used to edit the sentence correctly.
Taking notes requires listening, absorbing the information, and writing the information concisely.
-----
A semi-colon is used like a period - it separates two independent clauses. A colon is used list things or add a quotation/explanation, but remember, never use a colon after a sentence fragment! Your sentence doesn't have two independent clauses, and the list doesn't follow an independent clause, so you can't use the semi-colon or colon here!

Add a semicolon (;) after the word "listening." This corrects the sentence.
