When you have like bases, you multiply the exponents together and put it over the base.


2^(2) 2^(3) = 2^(2*3) = 2^(6)

If the bases are the same, add the exponents

2 ^2 * 2 ^3 = ? (Bases are the same, add the exponents)

Answer: D = 2^5
