"It reacts with water" is incorrect I took the test and got it wrong. I believe it is B, because oxygen combines with glucose and makes carbon dioxide.

cellular respiration the starting compounds are glucose and oxygen and the ending compounds are carbon dioxide, water, and energy.

C6H12O6+6O2-->6CO2+6H2O+ energy

Glucose (sugar)+oxygen--> Carbon Dioxide+ water+energy

so It is one of the starting compounds
