Phytic acid and oxalic acid decrease the absorption of dietary iron. Both Phytic acid and Oxalic acid binds minerals so that they cannot be absorbed, Phytic acid is found in cereal grain fibers while Oxalic acid is found in some leafy green vegetables, such a spinach.
