A= 2(pi)rh + 2(pi)r^2 = 2•pi•2•12+2•(pi)•2^2 = 175.92919m^2

Surface area of a cylinder: 2B + Ch
Word form: 2(area of base) + (circumference of base)(height)

Find the numbers you need to plug in to the formula.

Area of base:
\pi2² = 12.57 m²

Circumference of base: 2
\pi2 = 12.57 m

Height: 12 m

Plug these numbers in to the formula.
2(12.57) + (12.57)(12) = 175.98

The SA of the cylinder is 175.98 m².
