The details in the setting reveal that they were back in a time where colored people were being treated unfairly or seen as the lesser population. Beahs personality seems like he/she is very curious in what other people think, as well as he/she seems like a very easy going person due to the fact he/she did not get mad when ‘the white people’ questioned why he could speak English so fast, rather then getting mad he/she seemed very calm and easy going
