∠PVQ + ∠QVR = 90° (complementary angles)
⇒ 12x + 3x = 90
12x + 3x = 90
Combine like terms:
15x = 90
Divide both sides by 15:
x = 6
Find ∠PVQ :
∠PVQ = 12x = 12 x 6 = 72°
Answer: ∠PVQ = 72°

First find the measure of x.
12x + 3x = 90
15x = 90
x = 6
Plug in x into ∠PVQ, which is 12x.
12(6) = 72
m∠PVQ = 72°
