If a hypothesis represents an idea/guess that is testable by science, but which may not actually have been tested , a theory is a hypothesis that has been tested and found to be sound, an accepted hypothesis that explain and provide predictions.

Cell theory is both. It's moth classified as both a theory and hypothesis.
