Answer:

27x^2

Explanation:

1) First, "cancel out" the 3s. Remember, exponents are kind of like another way of saying, "multiply this number by itself this many times." Whatever the bigger number is is the number that you multiply by itself, and the smaller number at the top indicates how many times you have to do that.

Take
3^4, for example. It's saying "multiply 3 by itself 4 times." Therefore, you can write it as (3)(3)(3)(3):

(3^4x^4)/(3x^2) \\= ((3)(3)(3)(3)x^4)/((3)x^2) \\

Now, simplify. For each 3 in the denominator, cross out a 3 in the numerator. So, cross out the single 3 in the denominator, and cross out one 3 in the numerator. Then, multiply the left over 3s. This gives us this:

((3)(3)(3)x^4)/(x^2)

= (27x^4)/(x^2) \\

2) Do the same with the x's. Write them out, cancel them out, and then multiply the leftovers together:

(27x^4)/(x^2)\\= (27(x)(x)(x)(x))/((x)(x))\\= 27 (x)(x)\\= 27x^2\\

Therefore,
27x^2 is the answer.
