the answer would be 3/9. it would not be 3/18 because you do not add together the denominators (bottom numbers), only the numerators (top number). think of it as a pie. if you have a lie with 9 slices, and you add 1 slice plus 2 slices. it wouldn’t become 1.5 slices, it would be 3 slices. hope this helps.
