Instead of writing "(x+7) to the second power", you can write "(x+7)^2" which is more efficient.

The equation given to us is
(x+7)^2 + (y-13)^2 = 196
which is the same as
(x-(-7))^2 + (y-13)^2 = 14^2
and that equation is in the form
(x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2

We can see that
h = -7
k = 13
r = 14

This means (h,k) = (-7,13)

The center is (-7,13)

Answer:

(-7,13)

Explanation:

The equation of a circle is (x+7)to the second power+(y−13)to the second power=196

(x+7)^2 +(y-13)^2 = 196

To find the center of the circle we use the center radius form of the circle

(x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2

where (h,k) is the verted and r is the radius of the circle

now we compare with the given equation

h= -7 and k =13

So center of the circle is (-7,13)
