When converting from meters to centimeters, you have to multiply the number by 100 because there are 100 centimeters per meter.
8.6m x 100= 860cm
Quan bought 860 centimeters of fabric.

There are 100 centimeters in a meter. So, it only makes sense to multiply the number of meters by 100 to get the amount of cm:
8.6 * 100
Moving the decimal down 2 times:
860 cm
Hope this helped!
