at sea level elevation =0ft water boils at 212.0 degrees Fahrenheit. on top of mount Ashland elevation =7500ft, water boils at 198.0 degrees Fahrenheit. assuming a linear relationship between elevation and boiling temperature, create a function relating the boiling temperature of water as a function of the elevation ,B(x) where x represents the elevation in feet. on a recent over night backpacking trip, I set up camp and water boiled at 202.8 degrees Fahrenheit. use B(x) to determine the elevation (to the nearest foot) of my camp based on the boiling temperature.
