since there are 30 petunias, the chance of getting the red ones can be calculated like this 9/30 (the chance of getting 9 red petunias out of 30). this gives 0.3 Then you multiply it by 100. it gives 30%. here is the solution formally.
9/30 = 0.3
0.3*100 = 30%
