The following is a list of immediate and long term outcomes of Columbus's voyage.

Immediate
- Columbus and his crew encountered new crops that they have never seen before. These crops included tomatoes, peanuts, corn, and pineapple (to name a few).

-Columbus immediately claimed the land in the name of Spain.

Long term
- The exchange of goods between the Western Hemisphere and the Eastern Hemisphere would begin and last for centuries (also known as the Columbian Exchange).

- Millions of Native Americans would end up dying from European diseases which they did not have immunity to.

- Native Americans would lose their land and many of them were forced to convert to Christianity.
