Assuming large jars = x, small jars = y

5x + 2y = 19 \\ 2x + 5y = 16

5x + 2y = 19 \\ 2y = 19 - 5x \\ y = (19)/(2) - (5)/(2) x

Substitute that into

2x + 5( (19)/(2) - (5)/(2) x) = 16 \\ 2x + (95)/(2) - (25)/(2) x = 16 \\10.5x = 31.5 \\ x = 3

Substitute x = 3 into

y = (19)/(2) - (5)/(2)( 3 )\\ y = (4)/(2) \\ y = 2

Price for each large jar = $3
Price for each small jar = $2

Hope this helps. - M
