Since the area of a rectangle is described as length times width, multiply 2 by 3/8. 2/1 times 3/8 is equal to 6/8. When you simplify that, you get 3/4 yards squared.

a = BH
= 2 X 3/8
= 6/8
= 3/4 yd squared

it should be the second one
