Given that (0,-2) is on the graph of f(x) find the corresponding point for the function f(x)+3

Answer: (0,1)

To get this answer, you add 3 to the y coordinate of the given point. The x coordinate stays the same. Doing this to every point on f(x) will shift all of f(x) three units up. This is what f(x)+3 means.
