Gabriel is doing a probability experiment. He is tossing a coin and spinning a spinner with 4 equal sections numbered from 1 through 4. How many possible outcomes are there?

There are 2 outcomes for the coin (heads or tails) and 4 outcomes for the spinner.

There are 2*4 = 8 outcomes total. It might help to make a two-way table to list out all the possible outcomes
