Giving that (4,-8) is on a graph of f(x) find the corresponding point for the function f(x+3)

When the adding is inside the parentheses it is a horizontal shift to the left.

This affects the x - axis.

So, we take our x coordinate, 4, and subtract 3.

4 - 3 = 1

So, the new point is:
( 1, -8)
