Compare:

y = 1 sin 2x
y = a sin bx

You can see for yourself that a = 1. This is the "amplitude" of the function.

Answer: 1

--------------------------------------------------------------

The equation y = 1*sin(2x) is in the form y = a*sin(bx-c)+d
where
a = 1
b = 2
c = 0
d = 0
The value of 'a' determines the amplitude
amplitude = |a| = |1| = 1
