The bases of a right prism are parallelograms with length of one of its sides a=8.5 cm and altitude to that side ha = 4 cm. Find the volume of the prism, if the height is h=14 cm.

Actually, the answer is 476 because you multiply 8.5 times 4 times 14 to get 476.

Volume of prism is calculated by multiplying base area and height of the prism.

Volume of prism =
Base area * height

Since the base of the prism is in the form of parallelogram.

Therefore, Volume of prism = Base area of parallelogram
* height

Area of parallelogram =
base * height

=
8.5 * 4 cm^2

= 34
cm^2

Therefore, Volume of prism = Base area
* height

=
34 * 14 cm^3

= 476
cm^3

Therefore, the volume of the prism is
476cm^3.
