The answer would be a rectangle. Same as the previous question, when you split up a cylinder, thenĀ  it will give you two rectangles due to its vertical sides. The other choices is impossible because when you say it will result into a square, the arc of the circle must be the same as the height of the cylinder to result into a square. but it has different measurements so it is a rectangle, one side is bigger than the other.

Correct Answer is

Rectangle.

An isosceles triangle can be obtained from cross section of a cone.

Since the height of the cylinder is much larger than the diameter, the resulting cross sectional area would be a rectangle.

For a square, all four sides must be equal. So a cylinder with equal diameter and height will result in a square.
