That would be the quotient of 3 times some number and 5.

Note the quotient is the result of a division . In this case its a division by 5.

The answer is A
This is the right answer because the quotient means to divide. So in other words A is saying, 3 time some number divided by 5.
B is not right because it is saying that 5 and some number are being multiplied and then divided by 3.
C is not correct either because it is saying that you are first dividing 3 byy some number, then multiplying the product of that by 5.
D is also not correct because it is adding 3 and some number then dividing by 5 (when it should be multiplying).
