Given that a function is given by g(x)=ax-7 and passes through points (1/3,-2), then to solve for a we proceed as follows:
Plugging the values in the function:
-2=1/3a-7
add 7 on both sides
-2+7=1/3a-7+7
5=1/3a
multiplying both sides by 3 we get
3×5=1/3a×3
a=15
thus the value of a=15
