To find the solution set we must factor the quadratic equation first.

q^(2) - 28
= 7( [tex] q^{2} [/tex - 4)
= 7(x + 2)(x - 2) = 0

x = {-2, 2}

This means that if x equals -2, or 2 the whole expression would equal zero. Hope this helps!
