The Italian poet Dante Alighieri wrote thr Divine Comedy, in the Late Middle Ages. In his work he included themes, as Hell, Purgatory and Heaven. He describes his journey, a pilgrimage from Hell (his condition of moral confusions) to Paradise, having visions of God.
