You’ve discovered a new site in southern Kenya, that you think might be about 1 Ma. You look around for a bit and recover fossils of Deinotherium boszai, Giraffa stillei, Parmularius altidens,Beatragus antiquus, Eurygnathohippus sp., and Kolpochoerus heseloni. What’s the best approximate age for the site?

The safest guess before making an examination would be somewhere between 2 and 2,5 million years ago. Considering when all of this species roamed the African continent, this is a very safe age if you are guessing, because all of these species were existent in this time frame, and also represented with solid amount of individuals.
