Maria has 5 more (+5) more than 6 times the number of pencils (6x) Bill has
p = pencils
6p + 5, or C, is your answer
Jamie is 3 years younger than Ray. Ray is y years old
Jamie's age is y - 3
y - 3, or B, is your answer
