Hello!

You put numbers from 5 to 13 in for i and add all the values up

3(5) + 2 = 17
3(6) + 2 = 20
3(7) + 2 = 23
3(8) + 2 = 26
3(9) + 2 = 29
3(20) + 2 = 32
3(11) + 2 = 35
3(12) + 2 = 38
3(13) + 2 = 41

Now add all the numbers up

17 + 20 + 23 + 26 + 29 + 32 + 35 + 38 + 41 = 261

The answer is A) 261

Hope this helps!

Answer: The correct option is

(A) 261.

Step-by-step explanation: We are given to find the following sum :

S=\sum_(i=5)^(13)(3i+2).

We have

S\\\\=\sum_(i=5)^(13)(3i+2)\\\\=(3*5+2)+(3*6+2)+(3*7+2)+(3*8+2)+(3*9+2)+(3*10+2)+(3*11+2)+(3*12+2)+(3*13+2)\\\\=17+20+23+26+29+32+35+38+41\\\\=261..

Thus, the required sum is 261.

Option (A) is CORRECT.
