I think the antipsychotic drugs appear to produce therapeutic effects by occupying the receptor sites for dopamine and blocking its activity. Antipsychotic drugs also known as neuroleptics are a class of medication used to manage psychosis; including paranoia or disordered thought, delusions, and hallucinations, mainly in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
