Hitler's rise to power was caused by the Treaty of Versailles. It resulted in the blame being put on Germany for starting WW1, and they had to pay reparations to the other countries like Britain and France. All of this caused the German economy to crash, allowing the rise of Hitler, because in Germany, he was a strong leader that could turn the economy around. As Hitler rose in power, the size of the Nazi party grew, causing him to be able to wipe out the other political groups in Germany. There are two main points when Hitler could have been stopped. If the Treaty of Versailles had never been signed, Germany's economy never would have crashed, which would have never allowed Hitler to rise to power. The other point would have been in 1939, when the Munich Agreement was signed. They could have stopped him then and there, preventing WW2 and his continued rise to power. In the end, they allowed him to gain Czechoslovakia, which gave him the power and will to gain more political power and land. In the end, Britain and France handed Hitler what he needed to become as powerful as he had.
