Write an equation of a line in slope intercept form using a line passing through points 0,1 and -4,5

Find the slope, (y1-y0)/(x1-x0)=M
(5-1)/(-4-0)=-1
Y=Mx+b
b is the y-intercept (y value when x=0)
Y=-x+1

Find the slope of the line passing through (0, 1) and (-4, 5) using the slope formula:
(x2-x1)/(y2-y1).

(5 - 1)/(-4 -0) =
(4)/(-4) = -1

Now use the formula: y - y1 = m(x - x1) to get a line in slope-intercept form.
Plug in the numbers. m = slope and x1 & y1 are points.
We'll use (0, 1).

y - 1 = -1(x - 0)
y - 1 = -x
y = -x + 1 is the equation.
