How could the author strengthen his argument about how ear buds are dangerous when in a car?

If a car is honking behind you or trying to warn you of something the earbuds will drown out the sound so you can't hear them. Or if an ambulance is behind you, you wont be able to hear it and that could cost someones life.

If someone is trying to get your attention such as a car or a horn honking behind you, theres a high risk of hitting something or even a pedestrian the earbuds are a big distraction they will drown out the sound so you can't hear anything and if a officer or ambulance is behind you, you wont be aware and could put you and others in danger and could be fined heavily.
