we know that
the slope-intercept form of the equation of the line is
y=mx+b

if two lines are parallel both slopes are the same

step 1
find the slope of the line y = x + 11

the slope m=1

step 2
with the point (-6,2) and m=1 find the equation of a line
y=mx+b-------> 2=(1)*(-6)+b-----> 2=-6+b-----> b=2+6----> b=8

the equation of the line is
y=x+8

the answer is
y=x+8
