Poisonous gas, which was heavier than air, was used in World War I. Why might gas be a more effective weapon against soldiers in the trenches than those on the battlefield?

The gas kills people quicker because one it goes down quickly because heavier then air 2 people breathe and it gets in heir lungs

Bc the gas can sink down into the deep trench and won’t escape as easily, therefore killing more people
