A) To find the greatest number of plants in each row, we have to find the greatest common factor between the number of geraniums (36) and the number of marigolds (63). The greatest number that goes into both numbers is 9. The greatest common factor between 36 and 63 is 9.
B) To find the number of flowers in each row, divide the number if geraniums and number of marigolds by the greatest common factor of 9.
Geranium Rows
36 ÷ 9= 4 rows
Marigold Rows
63 ÷ 9= 7 rows
ANSWER: Greatest number of flowers in each row is 9. There are 4 rows of geraniums and 7 rows of marigolds.
Hope this helps! :)
