Hello!

We first have to find the missing angle in the triangle

180 - 90 - 45 = 45

Since angle b and angle c equal the same their corresponding lines equal the same

Line BA = 13

Use the Pythagorean theorem

13^(2) + 13^(2) = c^(2)

Square the numbers

169+169 = c^(2)

Add

338 = c^(2)

Take the square root of both sides

c = 13 √(2)

The answer is A)
13 √(2) ft

Hope this helps!

the first one is true

if the angles of a right triangle are 90,45,45

the legs are equal. so if AC is 13, Back will be 13, too.

now you can get help from Pythagoras theorem :

c {}^(2) = {13}^(2) + {13}^(2) \\ c {}^(2) = 169 + 169 = 338 \\ c = √(338) = 13 √(2) = 18.38

good luck
