A grain silo has a diameter of 4.4 meters. The height of its cylindrical portion is 6.2 meters.

What is the approximate total volume of the silo? Use 3.14 for π and round the answer to the nearest tenth of a cubic meter.

A) 37.1 m3

B) 71.9 m3

C) 116.5 m3

D) 130.8 m3

The answer is actually "C" I just wanted to make a question for some people who may need the answer to it.

Answer:

The volume of grain silo is 116.5 m³

C is correct.

Explanation:

Given: Garin silo form by cylinder and hemi-sphere. Diameter = 4.4

Radius = 4.4/2 = 2.2 m

Cylinder:

Height of cylinder (h) = 6.2 m

Radius of cylinder (r) = 2.2 m

Hemi-Sphere:

Radius of Hemi-sphere (r) = 2.2 m

Volume of Grain Silo = Volume of Hemi-sphere + Volume of Cylinder

Volume of Silo
=(2)/(3)\pi\cdot 2.2^3+\pi \cdot 2.2^2\cdot 6.2

Volume of Grain silo = 116.5 m³

Hence, The volume of grain silo is 116.5 m³
