The correct answer is B. Many academic institutions would not consider the scientific ideas of a woman.

Maria Winkelmann Kirch was a German astronomer who was educated in her childhood because her father was a Lutheran minister who believed in the equality between men and women. The astronomy was her principal interest from her youth when she was the apprentice of Christopher Arnold, an autodidact astronomer, he was very important for her life because Arnold introduced her to Gottfried Kirch who would be her husband years later.

She always studied the sky at the night getting knowledge about moon phases, eclipses, Northern Lights, sunset and discovered a comet. Nevertheless, despite having the necessary knowledge, when she requested an assistant astronomy position to the Berlin Academy, she was rejected for being a woman. So, the correct answer is B. Many academic institutions would not consider the scientific ideas of a woman
