Explanation:

6/15 = 2/5

because

6÷3=2 and 15÷3=5

6/15 = 4/10

the common denominator is 30 so

15×2=30 and 10×3=30

Do that to the numerators

6×2=12 and 4×3=12

So then you have

12/30 and 12/30

Which are equivalent.
