1) You can use magnet to remove iron nails. (Iron separated.)
2) Add water to the mixture of salt and sand. Salt will dissolve in water, but sand will not dissolve.
3) Filtrate sand. (Sand separated, salt is in the solution.)
4) Evaporate water from salted solution. (Salt separated.)
