Countries were divided due to cold war. Socialist North Korea, Capitalist South Korea.
New allies emerged for US; Japan.

After the Korean War, the stage was settled for the Cold War. Both South and North Korea were destroyed by the war. The United States sent aid to South Korea through the UNKRA - United Nation Korea Reconstruction Agency.

North Korea on the other side, received aid from USSR and China and established itself as a closed anti-Western country.

This influenced global politics because it set the stage for the major world powers which led to the Cold War. The US was able to contain the spread of communism in the Pacific Region
