.An example of paradox is the line _____.I waked, she fled, and day brought back my night. The world is too much with us. Death, be not proud. But no such roses see I in her cheeks.

I waked, she fled, and brought back my night.

  • Explanation

The paradox is a figure of language that agglutinates opposite concepts in a same statement. It can be described as the expression of a logical idea by the use of opposing terms. In a paradoxical statement, mutually exclusive notions are related in the same context. It is an apparently true statement that leads to a logical contradiction to common intuition.

The answer to this exercise is a clear paradox. One person says that he woke up and suffered another person's absence and so the day turned into night. One day will become night only after all the hours have passed and this can not be related to a person's flight. Day is day and night is night and this is a matter of nature, it is unchanging. So it is contradictory to say that the day turned into night because of someone's departure.
