Abomination means hatred. Horror and hatred, the reader will have an imagery of horror instead of hate. The WHOLE sentence will change.

Answer:

The word abomination is related to disgust or hatred and changing it would reduce the impact of the sentence and change the tone of it.

Step-by-step explanation:

The sentence has a tone of disgust, hatred, and extreme rejection because of the use of the word abomination, this makes the nuances strong and well defined, if the word is changed by the word horror the tone of the excerpt will be of fear and self protection from something but for different reasons from the ones in the original idea.
